
Zutilo adds several accessibility functions not available the regular Zotero for Firefox with extra menu items and keyboard shortcuts, including copying, pasting and right-click commands.More information about Zotfile can be found at the Zotero website. Zotfile also lets you extract and search the annotations you make in Zotero, making it even easier to manage your own added to your research. Zotfile is a Zotero plugin to manage your attachments: automatically rename, move, and attach PDFs (or other files) to Zotero items, and sync PDFs from your Zotero library to your mobile device.The plugins listed below add features for general ease of use and accessibility. These include keyboard shortcut features, Google Scholar functionality, and other tools. Zotero has an active community that creates 3rd party plugins. Clicking the folder icon lets you then choose from a list of articles to import, which is shown in the image below. If there are multiple search results to choose from, the Zotero icon will change from a single page to a folder.

Mendeley and Zotero are both free for the basic accounts and can be downloaded on non-MSK computers. PaperPile is designed for collaboration, but it must be within the Google (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs). If you have multiple libraries, syncing will merge them. You must remember to sync your desktop account to EndNote web for this to work. Mendeley's free account allows a private group with up to 3 people where you can share a library and all members have access to full-text and editing abilities.ĮndNote 20 has sharing capabilities that work with EndNote Web where up to 200 people can be added to share your library through EndNote Web.

You must be at an institution with SciWheel to create a project but can invite anyone from any institution to join a project.

SciWheel has private projects where members can share citations and full-text. Mendeley has a desktop component but it must be synced with an Internet connection. Online searching will not work without an Internet connection. PaperPile allows you to view all the PDFs in your collection through the Google Drive app on any mobile device.ĮndNote and Papers are both desktop based products that run from your hard drive so you will have access to your personal library.

Mendeley has an iPad app, however it is best used to view your library, not do work in it. Papers recently came out with a free iOS app that is separate from their desktop version but can be synced to your desktop account.
